Compare and contrast three differences between holistic and conventional approaches.
Examples:
Ayurveda, Chakras/Energy, Doshas
Healing Touch Therapy
Auras
Sound therapy
Light therapy
Western Medicine lacks comparison, at most, they recognize in some studies the link between prayer and religion and mental wellbeing. Class IV laser therapy is similar example concerning light, but not with the same inspiration. Music therapy is another partial comparison.
Examples:
Integrative Nutrition Health Coach
Ingredient reading and learning in general diet education
Western medicine does not require or ask or discuss this. At most, it does discuss exercise and calories. Recently, some providers will discuss certain diets and overall diet, with handouts or mentions. Recently research is in development. Dieticians do discuss individualized diet. Calories have been the common focus in weight loss, vs. other burdens and reasons for obesity.
Examples:
Diet and disease links
Environmental exposures
Energy
Stress
Spirituality
Western medicine commonly prescribes a drug for a symptom and another drug for a side effect. Drugs and injections are provided as a first line option.
Depending on severity, this can be necessary.
Otherwise, the risk and benefit is not matched or the risk not exceeded.
